Meditating that all be well
A Buddhist altruism
In one of our
recent visits to a Buddhist Temple in Bangkok, Thailand, we witnessed a group
of Buddhist monk chanting prayers in a rhythmic tone. They were repeating a set
of prayers for a long time and were meditating. I asked one their members about
the purpose of this and what do they pray. “They are praying for the well-being
of all and peace in the whole world,” was the reply. It was a touching
experience to see these Monks breathing a prayer and meditating for others well-being. It was
told that they would spend considerable amount of time doing this meditation
and prayer for the humanity.
It is indeed
wonderful to meet spiritual people with altruistic passion. Long live those
monks and their noble initiatives.
